A lovely day, mild with a lot of sunshine but windy in exposed places. Also very muddy paths
and tracks, not helped by horses and what appeared to be motorbike tracks (scramble) in
places. We cut off the south eastern corner which crossed a field with no discernable path and
looked like sticky clay. Some relief through Holmer Green but back in the mud down Kingstreet Lane
with no real letup until we reached Little Missenden.
Eleven of us dared the mud and were joined by three more in the Red Lion. In the past (with better weather), we have sat outside so this was the first inside job for a while. Cheap but good pub grub (sausage, beans and chips in my case but sandwiches were popular) and a choice of three ales - GK IPA, Tring Side Pocket and Skinners "Betty Stogs". The Side Pocket was excellent so never got around to trying Betty Stogs.
