The weather forecast promised lots of rain. In the event, not a drop. Cold, but no wind. We passed lots of turkeys who seemed very pleased to see us. It was with mixed feelings that we also observed a batch of turkeys being ushered into yellow plastic crates to go off on their "holidays". The rest of the walk was uneventful. Some very wet places in the woods but we stayed on course. Two took a short(er) cut on the return leg.
Seven of us braved the forecast weather on the walk and another five were waiting in the Jolly Farmer on our return. Their kitchen was in the process of being rebuilt but they were offering food that could be cooked in the pizza oven. My spicy salami pizza was good but it would have been better with mushrooms and/or sliced peppers. There were three Rebellion ales on offer and I think we were all on the "Wing Man"; it being the November special. Very good too.
