A cool start but warming rapidly in the sunshine. Ideal walking conditions. We went
through a lot of woodland and just a small amount of road. At Dundridge Manor we saw some
quite fancy farm machinery; the huge seed drill being of particular interest that occupied us
for five to ten minutes. We also took a look at the cottages just up from the Old Swan which
are still burned out and derelict. Rather sad. Three and a dog took a short cut through
Lady Grove and we were all back by 1230.
Ten of us and Jinks (pretty much back to her old self) did the walk and met another two in the pub. A cyclist joined us later. As it was sunny, we sat in the garden. Food excellent but the ale was disappointing. Only London Pride available. The Chiltern Pale was off for being cloudy but some of us sampled it before we left and found it quite drinkable.
