A mostly sunny and comfortably warm day. Lots of woodland on this walk with very little road.
There was an unintentional deviation approaching Common Wood where we followed an obvious (but
wrong) path, forking left instead of right after Bucks Hill Farm. This involved scrambling under
a barbed wire fence to get into the wood and back on course. The usual deviants (2) then took a
short cut past Hillmeads Farm. The rest of us carried on. There was a very steep bit from Belsize
up to Penman's Green which we came down last time in the snow.
Seven of us enjoyed the sunshine and woods and met another four in the Windmill. This is a very friendly place with good pub grub and three ales - Doombar, GK IPA and Morelands (GK) Old Speckled Hen. Most of us were on the Speckled which was surprisingly good.
