2019 May 9 Asheridge - Blue Ball

Wet. Met office said it would start to rain around 1100 and get worse by 1200. It got worse by 1000! We hung around in the shelter of the workshop behind the pub until about 1045 before starting out. Raining fairly continuously throughout the walk. Original plan ignored and a shorter route was taken amounting to about 3½ miles arriving back by 1220, a little damp but OK.

To my surprise, there were ten of us on the walk (I thought there would be less, given the weather) and another three were waiting in the pub. One cyclist eventually showed up, too. Nice pub, ales were Tring SidePocket and Adnams Ghost Ship (plus two unmentionables *) and good food which came promptly for a change. Top pub!
