Cloudy with sunny intervals. Cool in the wind when the sun went in. This was a repeat of
a walk we did last year, part of which involves venturing into the notorious haunted
Monkton Wood. Following our GPS devices rigidly ensured we didn't get lured off course
but there are always a few (two in this case) who think they see a shorter route. Two had
already deviated to skirt the wood rather than go through it. All managed to get back eventually.
Seven and a dog set out on this adventure and all returned to join four more in the pub. Excellent choice of ales; I was on the rebellion "Dive bomber". Several had Vale "Gravitas" until it ran out. Hardys and Hansons (now GK) Kimberly bitter was also well thought of. There seemed to be a slight problem in the kitchen as all the food was late arriving - around an hour late in the worst case. No apparent reason but it was good when it did, finally, appear.
