A very windy day. Not cold and a little rain to start, clearing after an hour or so.
Because the course involved walking down into the Chess valley (and back up again) it was
a little shorter than usual. This didn't stop some people taking short cuts. Curiously,
he who took the first got to the pub last. We were about to organise a search party when
he turned up. Much of the route was very wet and boggy as can be seen. We covered about
4 miles in 1 hour 45 mins.
Seven were on the walk and another seven turned up for lunch. Food at the Hen & Chickens is good with the beef pie being very popular. There were two Rebellion Ales on - "Loop the Loop", pale and hoppy, and "Smuggler", a darker and sweeter ale. I had one of each.
