2018 May 17 Henton - Peacock

A cool northerly wind to start but mostly bright. Quite warm by the end of the walk. The first leg of the walk was hidden or claimed by the residents so we moved south along the road and turned right into a metalled farm track. This brought us back on course and there was no sign of the path where it was supposed to come out. Otherwise a flat walk with quite a chunk of the Phoenix Way. The usual party took a short cut and got back early. The rest of us managed 4.8 miles in 1h 55min.

Ten and a dog completed the walk and one more joined us for lunch. This is a very pleasant, slightly upmarket Inn/Tavern that can cater for conferences. I think one was being held as it was quite busy. We had our usual round table and service was very good. Ales on offer were Doombar and Tring Ridgeway. No contest really.
