2014 July 31 Flackwell Heath - Crooked Billet

Warm, sunny day again. Did 5.3 miles in just over 2 hours. The wimps did a short cut and got to the pub first. Don't have any details. (TK)

Ten of us walked from the Crooked Billet. Another Hot day and not very much shade on the walk I fear. A bit hilly around here - and together with the hot weather meant that a few of us cut the last bit (over a hill). The short cutters (3.7 miles) were back a little early but those following the planned route (4.7 miles) were 20 mins late. One good thing was that there was a lot of free eats on the route (plums and blackberries mainly). 5 more joined at the pub. We had a table reserved in the garden (under canvas). The garden at this pub is always a picture in the summer and this year is no exception - flowers of every variety adorned every conceivable structure. Food here very good (and cheap) and beer also good.
